MediPACK Q&A
Here you’ll find answers to several of our most frequently-asked questions. Have a question that you don’t see answered? Please enter it in the space below and provide your e-mail. We’ll respond and/or post your question and our answer as promptly as possible.
What is MediPACK?
MediPACK is the innovative presorted prescription management program available exclusively from Reeves-Sain. Our pharmacists, working with your doctor, simplify and organize your monthly medication regimen into a multi-pack roll of single-dose packets, each clearly labeled with your doctor’s instructions – further ensuring that you take the right dosage at the right time.
How much does MediPACK cost?
The cost of your MediPACK medications are the same as you would pay in any traditional retail pharmacy, plus a $15/month membership fee – with the first two months of membership FREE. Your monthly fee will be waived if you are a Medicare or TennCare beneficiary.
Does my insurance cover this service?
If your prescriptions are currently covered by your insurance, they will also be covered with MediPACK. You are responsible, however, for the monthly program membership fee.
How will I get my monthly MediPACK shipment?
Once a month, a MediPACK associate will contact you to determine whether you have any changes or questions. If not, your MediPACK shipment will be delivered to your home via UPS.
How many prescriptions can MediPACK accommodate?
MediPACK can manage an unlimited number of monthly prescriptions. The more complicated your medication regimen, the more benefits you will derive from the program.
What types of medications can be packaged into MediPACK?
MediPACK is designed to organize and sort your daily oral prescription pills – including over-the-counter medication, vitamins and dietary supplements.
Can half-tabs or quarter-tabs be included in MediPACK?
Yes.
Are there types of oral medications that cannot be dispensed with MediPACK?
A handful of medications cannot be packaged with the MediPACK system: chewable tablets or tablets that dissolve easily, certain antibiotics, PRN or as-needed medications, liquids and injectable medications, chemotherapy medications and medications that have frequently changed doses. If you are taking a number of medications and are questioning whether they are appropriate for MediPACK, please consult your physician and a MediPACK pharmacist to determine if this program is suitable for you.
What if I have medication change?
Contact the MediPACK pharmacy immediately so that this changed medication can be included in your next MediPACK shipment. Once your monthly shipment has been sent to your home, our pharmacy cannot accept a return or offer a refund, as enforced by Boards of Pharmacy throughout the country.
Will I get any additional information with my monthly MediPACK shipment?
Absolutely. You will receive the following with each:
- A MediPACK dispensing box to store and organize all of your medications neatly
- A monthly MediPACK dispensing record to provide you a comprehensive overview of your medications, the prescribing physicians, the number of remaining refills and any other special directions.
- A MediPACK invoice
What payments options do I have?
Credit card or automated payment/direct withdrawal.
Is MediPACK packaging easy to open?
Yes. It is very simple to open – so much so that we highly recommend you keep it well out of children’s reach.
Can I receive MediPACK outside Tennessee?
Yes.
My medications are on different schedules. Can I still use MediPACK?
Our MediPACK pharmacists, working with your physician and insurance company, will get all of your medications on the same schedule. Since all of your medications will be filled at once, drug interactions will be more readily identified. This process of requesting refills collectively once per year is a great time-saver.
I currently get all my medications mail-order. Can MediPACK provide me with a 90-day supply?
Yes. Many insurance companies are more than willing to allow MediPACK to provide you 90 days worth of supplies. Sometimes this process also requires that you or your physician contact the insurance company.
